Pure Beeswax Candles

THE BENEFITS OF USING 100% PURE BEESWAX CANDLES

"We have chosen to fill our hives with honey and wax, thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest of things, which are sweetness and light". Jonathan Swift

Honey Candles are made from 100% pure natural beeswax.

Pure beeswax candles are nature’s very own air purifiers. They naturally ionise the atmosphere, reducing environmental pollution and therefore improving air quality. The atmosphere contains billions of electrically charged ions, which affect our capacity to absorb and utilise oxygen, hence affecting our health.

Pure beeswax candles emit a constant stream of negative ions which neutralise the positive ions in the atmosphere to which are attached allergens such as dust, pollen, mould, etc. These allergens, now neutralised, fall to the ground causing less affect on our health. The fresh air smell after rain is produced from the same process.

Pure beeswax is nature's gift to humanity, working in perfect harmony with nature, unlike paraffin candles which are a petroleum by-product from a non-renewable resource. Paraffin candles are invariably textured and bleached causing undesirable by-products of combustion. It is believed burning paraffin candles produce positive ions creating black soot that adheres to walls and furnishings in the candle’s proximity.

Professionally made pure beeswax candles burn hotter (and brighter) without producing soot. Honey Candles uses cotton braided wicks, ensuring its pure beeswax candles are environmentally friendly and effectively carbon-neutral.

Pure beeswax candles are a renewable resource – made from the pollen of flowers, beeswax is the result of bees converting sugars from honey in their special abdominal glands. When burning, pure beeswax candles emit a beautiful light honey aroma, and may help soothe the symptoms of hay fever and other allergies.

Pure beeswax candles invariably burn hotter, brighter, cleaner and longer than candles from any other wax. The warm amber glow and honey-sweet aroma of a burning pure beeswax candle will beautifully complement any candle-lit dinner, a quiet bathing experience or just some quiet time with or without company.

Beeswax candles have traditionally been regarded as superior candles and were afforded only by the privileged royalty and the church. Today pure beeswax candles are still an affordable luxury, prized as an air purifier, toxin-free, with a warm radiant glow and a soft honey scent.

Tips to maximise the enjoyment of your Beeswax Candles:

There are various ways to extend the life of your beeswax candle, so that it burns beautifully and of course extending the life of your beeswax candle.

Keep burning candles away from children and pets and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Always burn your beeswax candle in a suitable container and place the container on a fireproof plate.

Burning a beeswax candle in a draft may cause it to smoke as the wind causes the candle to burn too fast. Remove your candle from the draft and it will burn smoke free.

Your candle may also emit smoke if the wick is too long. This may be corrected by extinguishing the wick, waiting for the wax to set then trimming the wick back to  5/7 mm.

Remember to remove all packaging before lighting your candle.

The wick draws up the melted wax, fuelling the flame. If you blow out the flame, the wick will continue to smoke and smoulder. Ideally your candle should always be extinguished by 'dipping' the wick into its own pool of liquid wax, or by purchasing one of our special Wick Dippers.

THE PERFUME OF BEESWAX
"Give me some wax that bees have made
and I will offer you in trade
a candle that is aromatic -
pure, unique, and charismatic.
Truth lets you call this wax unique,
for connoisseurs will vainly seek
a substance chemically the same;
beeswax deserves its lasting fame.
 Sweet perfume isn't lacking here.
This wax is white to yellow, clear,
has scent that's redolent of the hive-
a product only bees contrive." - Grant D. Morse
